Situated in the Cairngorm region of Scotland , the wooden bridge at Broomhill was built in 1894 as a replacement to an earlier bridge that was washed away . It was originally built to transport wood from the Grant Estate at Abernethy across the River Spey to the Railway nearby , the bridge still carries vehicles .

It is known as the 'Bridge over the Atlantic' because the Clachan Sound meets the Atlantic at both ends of Seil Island and the bridge connects the mainland to the island .

The lodge was used when the Dukes were in residence at the nearby Hamilton Palace , which is sadly no longer standing . The lodge was restored by the local Council in the 1990's and is now used as a visitor centre for a country park and it also hosts weddings and other functions .

But an engineer was looking for stock to run on the Strathspey line near Aviemore and the engine was reprieved and restored . The engine was rightly re-named in 2000 to EV Cooper Engineer , the man to gave it a second life . This shot in black & white is of the Engine steaming out of Broomhill Station .
