Woodbridge Waterfront
Woodbridge Waterfront
Looking across the marina to the quayside at Woodbridge in Suffolk. This picturesque town lies on the River Deben. Here the tidal section of the river flows on to reach the North Sea at Felixtowe, The town was once known for shipbuilding, rope-making and sail-making - and apparently some of Drake's warships were built here! Now we find boats of all shapes and sizes tied up on the quayside. In the background is the old tide mill, harnessing the power of the tides to turn its wheel.
