North West Scottish Highlands
Stac Pollaidh from the Coigach Peninsula North Scotland on a sunny October day. The North Highlands of Scotland yeild up amazing landscapes.
Achnahaird Bay near Ullapool on the Coigach peninsula on a moody and sunny day in October. This area if Scotland is one of the most rugged, remote and beautiful parts of the UK. Isolated from the buzz and busy of so many other parts of Britain here you can just sit, contemplate and soak up the raw beauty of your surroundings. Yes, I loved it here!
The remains of Ardvreck Castle lit up by the sun on the shores of Loch Assynt in the Scottish Highlands in autumn. I waited for the Ben behind to be cloud covered to help the sad castle ruins stand out more strongly.
Looking up Loch Maree from near Poolewe Scottish Highlands on a moody October day. Initially I saw no photograph here but as I settled into the view I started to see the mood, sombre as it was, starting to offer me a dramatic scene all about high mountains and deep lochs and for this I needed that moody, broody light.
Looking across Loch Lurgainn in the Scottish Highlands with a sandy bay in the foreground. The Highlands here, just north of Ullapool and quite wild and remote and there are times when you seem to have acres of upland just to yourself.
