Sisteron is a commune in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. Sisteron is situated on the banks of the river Durance just after the confluence of the rivers Buëch and Sasse.
The stunning medieval walled town of Entrevaux with its hil top fortress and meandering ramparts. Situated on the river Var, dominating the village is a hilltop citadel built by Vauban in 1690 which is reached via a fortified walkway that zigzags up the hillside.
